The Internet has had a great influence on today’s kids, their habits, and daily activities. The Internet has been around since the late 1980’s, and since then, kids have been even more exposed to the digital world. With the advancements of technology, the Internet has expanded and developed so much that now it plays a significant role in our lives; especially for young people who depend on it as a source for learning and entertainment. On the one hand, the Internet has provided children with an immense amount of knowledge that can easily be accessed by anyone in the comfort and convenience of their own home. It has provided them with a variety of online educational tools, resources, and games to help develop their skills and gain knowledge on a plethora of topics. This has enabled kids to learn more effectively and efficiently in a variety of ways. On the other hand, the Internet has enabled children to be exposed to a broad range of inappropriate, violent, and explicit content. This has put them at risk of becoming desensitized and even adopting a more unhealthy lifestyle. Lastly, the Internet has created platforms and tools which have enabled them to easily communicate and share content with one another. While this is beneficial in some ways, It has also become a major source of cyberbullying and other cybercrimes, which can have drastic consequences on the physical and mental health of children. To conclude, the Internet has created a great impact on today’s kids, has enabled them to learn in new and innovative ways, but it has also created the potential for them to be exposed to a variety of risks and dangerous content.
