Corruption is a serious problem that has plagued the world for centuries. It has created a huge impact on all aspects of life from economy to politics. It is estimated that corruption costs developing countries billions of dollars each year and the negative effects have become even greater due to globalization, since it expands the horizon of opportunities for the corrupt. It is a shameful and unethical practice that must be eradicated by all means possible.
No nation can develop and prosper with corruption. It keeps ordinary citizens in poverty and reduces the quality of life. In addition, it breeds social injustice and therefore threatens the very foundations of democratic governance. To fight against corruption requires participation of citizens, government and businesses. We need to take a collective stand against corruption and, through our actions, condemn the unfair malpractices.

To bring about such changes we need to create responsible citizens who are aware of their rights and duties and understand the values and morals of honesty and integrity. We need to cultivate an understanding that the fundamental principle of our society is the rule of law and the right to fair and equitable access to resources.
We must all pledge to reject and report bribes or any form of illegal activity and contribute towards a corruption-free world. We must recognize that such a world is our moral responsibility and is essential to our economic and social progress. Every single person can make a difference by making a conscientious effort to say no to corruption. We must show our commitment to the nation by actively contributing towards creating a corruption-free society where people can solve their social and economic problems in a fair and just manner. We must accept no less.
