Spoken communication is a powerful tool in conveying our emotions, ideas, and thoughts. It facilitates a two-way dialogue and helps to create meaningful relationships. Compared to written communication, it is more direct and allows us to see the reaction of the person with whom we are communicating. Oral communication is vital to creating a mutually beneficial relationship, since it allows both sides to understand each other. We are able to express our feelings in a more emphatic way, express more nuanced ideas and understand the empathy of the other person. Moreover, research has shown that when communicating orally, we can convey more complex ideas better and with greater clarity. This is because we are able to use body language to deepen our message, feel each other's mood and perceive how the other will react to what we are saying. We are also able to come to a more rapid agreement when participating in people as we can exchange quick clarifications that would take a long time to explain in written form. Additionally, during spoken communication we can observe the speaker's emotional state which can give us an opportunity to react appropriately instead of being left in a problematic communication situation as it often happens in written forms. Therefore, when considering written vs. spoken communication it is evident that the former is more powerful and brings more invaluable results.
