Stem education is an educational approach which focuses on the study and teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths to prepare students for the challenges of the rapidly changing 21st century workplace and industry. STEM education essentially combines the four disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths to develop high-level thinking skills, problem-solving capabilities and creativity among students. It focuses on the skills required of the 21st century worker such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, problem solving, data integrity and analysis, and technological literacy. The aim of STEM education is to develop a comprehensive system where all students are equipped with the skills that they need to have successful and rewarding careers within these four main subjects. This approach also helps students develop knowledge and skills in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths in order to better understand their environment, its resources and potentials, and to use them to the betterment of all.
